The hotel business in Bacolod is picking up with the downgrading of the city’s COVID-19 status to Alert Level 2.
Seda Capitol Central hotel in Bacolod City kicked off the holiday season on an upbeat note with the lighting of its Christmas tree Thursday night, November 25.
“The lighting of the Christmas tree is a message of hope not only for our guests but for everyone,” Seda Capitol Central manager Kim Guimba said.
Lighting the tree will spark that hope that things will be better, he said.
He said at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic their hotel business drastically suffered but with the city now under Alert Level 2 it has been picking up, he said
In November, business picked up by 30 to 40 percent, he said.
The hotel’s restaurant has been moved to its rooftop to give their guests the option of dining in an open air area, he said. They also have a new chef, Edwin Infante, who has introduced an improved menu for people who want to dine at the hotel, he said.
Among the specialties of the new chef are pastas and pizza, he said
They have been getting a lot of good feedback on the food not just from guests from other parts of the country, but from Negrenses who have dined there, he said.
“What is important to us is good feedback from the locals because that is a sign approval. We want Seda to be part of the Negrense tradition and a destination of families,” he said.
All their staff are fully vaccinated and COVID-19 safety protocols are all in place, he said
The hotel has also been awarded a safety seal, he said.*
