Unidentified man found dead with gunshot wounds in Himamaylan

An unidentified man was found dead with gunshot wounds along the national highway in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 9.

The Himamaylan police said the body was discovered at around 1:30 p.m. in Purok 11, Sitio Tanate, Brgy. Aguisan.

Police said the victim was estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old and had a tattoo bearing the name “PAULO” on the left side of his neck.

He was wearing a black sweatshirt, brown shorts, slippers and a brown cap.

A witness told police that he and his wife were traveling home from Brgy. Nabalian when they noticed a person lying on the ground.

They stopped to check and saw that the man had sustained gunshot wounds to the left side of his neck and chest.

The Himamaylan City Rescue Unit brought the victim to the Gov. Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the attending physician.

Police are working to establish the identity of the victim and determine the circumstances and motive behind the killing.
