Two most wanted persons facing rape charges were arrested in Negros Oriental, the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) reported.
The No. 1 regional most wanted person for qualified rape was arrested in Barangay Poblacion, Tayasan, on Thursday, April 2, the PRO NIR said.
The suspect, a 30-year-old man, who allegedly sexually abused his minor niece, is now under the custody of the Tayasan police.
The police also arrested the No. 10 regional most wanted person for statutory rape in Barangay Poblacion, Basay.
The 26-year-old suspect allegedly took advantage of a minor victim and was apprehended through a joint manhunt operation by multiple police units.
Police said the operations are part of intensified efforts to track down wanted persons and ensure accountability under the law.*
