Two injured in hacking incident near Ceres terminal in Himamaylan

Two men were injured after they were attacked by a suspect and his companions near a Ceres terminal in Himamaylan City early Monday morning, March 30.

Police said the victims, aged 36 and 19, both residents of Binalbagan, were heading to their vehicle when they were blocked by the suspect and two unidentified companions.

Authorities said the suspects were armed with a kitchen knife and suddenly hacked and stabbed the victims without apparent reason.

The older victim sustained an injury to his leg, while the younger victim was hit on the head.

Responding personnel were also reportedly attacked by the suspect, prompting them to fire their service firearm and hit the suspect in the leg.

The suspect, identified as alias “Vince,” 21, was subdued.

All injured individuals were brought to a hospital for treatment.

The police are conducting further investigation and efforts to identify the other suspects are ongoing.*
