Sustainability takes centerstage at SM City Bacolod’s painting workshop

Homegrown illustrator and watercolor artist Edbon Sevilleno was the featured artist at “Kape Pinta?”

It is an eco-conscious art workshop spearheaded by SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (SM Prime).

In keeping with the goal to encourage consumers to explore sustainable options, spent coffee grounds provided by local businesses Kape PinTa, Coffee Colony, Coffee Guys, Starbucks, Kuppa, C’s by L’Fisher, and Felicia’s were used in the sessions.

Art lovers were also able to enjoy the work of Sevilleno at “Sugar & Smiles: the Negrense Legacy Beyond 2020,” a parallel art exhibit organized by SM Bacolod in celebration of National Arts Month.

A portion of the proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to Kalipay Negrense Foundation.

Both events are part of “Connecting Today to Tomorrow,” a series of exhibits on the sustainability and disaster resilience initiatives of SM Prime and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

The exhibits will be featured in select SM malls across the country.
