A 45-year-old security guard was found dead inside a company staff house in Brgy. Camugao, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 7.
Police identified the victim only as alias “Ramon,” married, and a resident of Brgy. 3, Himamaylan City.
The victim was discovered at about 4:30 p.m. inside the security guard staff house of URC in Sitio San Juan, SONEDCO compound.
Police said another security guard went to check on the victim after he failed to report for his scheduled duty.
When the victim did not respond, the witness opened the room and found him lying motionless on his bed in a sleeping position.
The incident was reported to the Kabankalan City Police Station at about 7:30 p.m. by a company nurse.
Initial investigation showed that the victim had previously been on duty and had reportedly been experiencing fatigue.
Police said the family believed there was no foul play involved and that the victim may have died of natural causes.
The body was brought to a funeral home for proper disposition and post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.*
