The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) vowed quick police response to more than 600,000 Bacolodnons through the SAFE NIR Dial 911 launched on Thursday, June 4.

Brig. Gen. Romano Cardiño, acting director of Police Regional Office – Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), together with BCPO Director Col. Eugene Rebadomia, introduced the program that encourages Bacolodnons to “be alert, stay safe, and look out for one another.”

By just dialing 911, Bacolodnons can get immediate police assistance.

“Together, let us make Bacolod City and the entire NIR safer, more secure, and more peaceful for all,” Cardiño said in his message.

The PRO-NIR chief’s SAFE program, which stands for Seen, Appreciated, Felt and Extraordinary Service, is aligned with the Philippine National Police’s Focused Agenda, anchored on the vision of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”

Rebadomia said that SAFE NIR Dial 911 is “more than a hotline but also a promise that police help is only one call away.”

“The people should not have to remember a dozen hotline numbers, but 911 is enough,” he added.

SAFE NIR Dial 911 can be reached for life-threatening emergencies, such as crime in progress; violence, serious accidents, fire, and medical emergencies; and when someone’s life or safety is at risk.

It will also respond to reports of suspicious activities or anything that seems unusual or out of place.

Citizens can also report road accidents, including major traffic accidents with injury or damage, and blocked roads or hazardous conditions.

Those needing police assistance, especially for situations that require urgent response or need a police officer right away, can just dial 911.*PNA
