A motorcycle rider died after he crashed into a center island at the Bacolod–Silay Airport Access Road in Brgy. Zone 15, Talisay City, Negros Occidental at 2:35 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 1.
Police identified the victim only as “Jio,” 26, of Hacienda Napilas 2 in Barangay Eustaquio Lopez, Silay City.
Talisay police received a call from a concerned citizen at around 2:40 a.m. reporting a traffic accident in the area.
Investigators said the victim was traveling from Bacolod City toward Talisay City when he lost control of his motorcycle and hit the center island where a post was installed.
He sustained severe head injuries and other wounds.
Responding rescuers from the Talisay City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office found him unresponsive.
He was brought to the Talisay City Health Office but was declared dead at 3:24 a.m., the police said.*
