P1.68M in marijuana seized at Bacolod reclamation area

Operatives of the Seaport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group seized suspected marijuana worth P1.68 million at the Reclamation Area in Brgy. 10, Bacolod City, on Thursday, Dec. 5.

The SIADITG composed of operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-6 and Police Maritime Group seized marijuana, kush, and vape products suspected to contain marijuana oil, a PDEA-6 press release said.

Authorities intercepted the illegal shipment that included 14 bricks of dried marijuana leaves weighing 14 kilograms valued at P1.68M, and vacuum sealed plastic bags containing kush weighing 8 grams worth P10,800.

They also seized 20 disposable vapes believed to have contained marijuana oil.

The PDEA is conducting further investigation to trace the origin and intended recipients of the seized contraband.

The interdiction operations aims to combat influx of illegal drugs in the region, particularly through maritime routes, PDEA 6 said.*
