More than 13,000 individuals were caught violating the curfew of Bacolod City since January this year, the police said Thursday, November 25.

Bacolod City Police Office records show that 13,245 persons have violated the curfew from January to November.

In just one week, from November 15 to 21, the police said 503 curfew violators were arrested.

The city had earlier implemented a curfew from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. to contain the spread COVID-19.

Lt. Col. Sherlock Gabana, BCPO spokesperson, urged the public to follow the curfew hours to keep safe from the virus as well as from criminality.

Those exempted from the curfew are workers on night shifts, media practitioners, public emergencies that require fire and ambulance services, calamities, and those requiring medical assistance on board PUVs or private vehicles, the mayor’s executive order said.*
