Negros Occidental okays VTI buses cross-border travel in 3 routes

Vallacar Transit Inc. can begin cross-border travel between Negros Occidental and Oriental, and Cebu starting Saturday, November 20, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Friday.

Diaz on Friday issued the guidelines for all incoming passengers via land travel to Negros Occidental, with three approved routes.

There will be four buses plying the Bacolod to Dumaguete route via Mabinay, two buses for the Bacolod to Cebu via Mabinay trips, and four buses for the Bacolod to Cebu via Don Salvador Benedicto route and vice versa, he said.

Fully vaccinated individuals are required to present an S-PaSS, and verifiable COVID-19 vaccination cards or certificates of vaccination.

Those who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated should present an S-PaSS and a negative RT-PCR test result prior to travel.

Individuals with fake documents will be subject to 14-day quarantine and must undergo RT-PCR tests on the fifth day from their arrival at their own expense.

Only vehicles from the VTI Bacolod South Branch will be allowed to transport passengers.

VTI buses will be allowed 70 percent passenger capacity and passenger lists will be required for local government unit monitoring and contact tracing, Diaz said.

S-PaSS scanning and verification of incoming passengers will be done at all borders and ports of entry, he added.*
