The Negros Cultural Foundation, Inc. (NCFI), which supervises The Negros Museum, and NEGROSNEX Network Corporation, owner of the Negros Season of Culture, formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing held at The Negros Museum on Friday, Sept. 4.

Under the partnership, selected digital content from the Negros Season of Culture featuring arts, history, heritage, and culture will be made available as supplemental learning resources for The Negros Museum’s educational tours, programs, and other cultural initiative, a press release said Sunday.

NCFI President Lyn B. Gamboa said “We are grateful for this partnership with NEGROSNEX as we work together to instill the importance of culture as an integral part of our identity as Negrenses.”

NEGROSNEX Founder Angelica Berrie said  “Collaborating with the Negros Cultural Foundation to offer our digital heritage content through the Negros Museum will expand our reach to teachers, students, LGUs, and NGOs, who will be carriers of Negrense culture.”

Also present at the MOU signing were NCFI Board Secretary Mila C. Chiu, Executive Director Tanya P. Lopez, and NEGROSENEX Creative Director Alan Gensoli.

The initiative also reflects Berrie’s longstanding support for the Negros Cultural Foundation and its cultural programs. A generous benefactor of NCFI, Berrie previously supported the renovation of the Negros Museum in 2017 and, in 2019, commissioned the iconic “Bao the Unbowed Carabao.”

The partnership marks the beginning of a continuing collaboration between NCFI and NEGROSNEX, opening opportunities for future initiatives in the arts, history, heritage, and culture of Negros, the press release said.*
