A medical intern from Iloilo who is completing her internship at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) in Bacolod City is the owner of a brand-new Toyota Fortuner after winning the grand prize in a raffle by a nationwide internet provider.

Andrea Sartorio, who recently moved to Bacolod for her medical internship, had just applied for a PLDT fiber internet connection in her dormitory when her name was drawn as the first-ever grand winner from Bacolod.

“Of course, I’ll drive it around Bacolod first,” Sartorio said with a laugh, adding “But eventually, I’ll give the Fortuner to my parents in Iloilo.

“It’s safer and more comfortable for them, while their old pickup will be used for our poultry business”, she said.

Byox Gonzales, assistant vice president and head of national acquisition marketing of PLDT, said they have about 100,000 subscribers in Negros Occidental.

She added that they are continuing network rollouts in cities and municipalities across the province to ensure more residents can access reliable connectivity.

Sartorio received the keys to her new SUV during an awarding ceremony at Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City on Monday, Sept. 15, with representatives from PLDT and Toyota Negros Occidental.*
