The Negros Occidental provincial government is studying the granting of incentives to barangays with high COVID-19 vaccination performance rates, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Thursday, November 11.

The barangays will be responsible for coming up with their vaccination lists and their performance in terms of number of vaccinated persons will be published, Diaz said.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer and provincial consultant Alfredo Benitez are talking about possible incentives for barangays that perform well, he said.

The incentives could include additional budgets for projects, Diaz said.

The provincial government has also stepped up its vaccination information campaign, he added.

Benitez has provided voice and video clips of celebrities to boost the information campaign, Diaz said.*
