Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson led the launching of the Kadiwa ng Pangulo at the Food Terminal Market of Negros (FTMON) complex in Bacolod City on Monday morning, July 17.

Under the guidance of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Kadiwa ng Pangulo “is a testament to our commitment to assisting our farmers, fisherfolk, and micro enterprises and at the same time, ensuring that consumers are not burdened by high prices of commodities,” Lacson said.

The launching of Kadiwa ng Pangulo centers was held simultaneously in 81 provinces in the country.

The objective of the president is to improve agricultural production to avoid the importation of basic commodities and in effect not burden consumers with exorbitant prices, Lacson said.

The Kadiwa ng Pangulo will bridge this gap by providing a venue for farmers and fisherfolk to sell their products directly to consumers, Lacson said.

“Aside from creating additional opportunities for them, this will also foster the growth of our local economy and sustainable livelihood, and of course ease the difficulties being faced by our people due to inflation,” he said.

Lacson urged the Capitol employees and the general public to buy from the Kadiwa ng Pangulo.

“More than taking the opportunity to get your basic food needs at a lower price, you will be supporting the livelihood of your Negrense brothers and sisters. Let us make the act of supporting one another not an occasional option, but our way of life,” he said.*
