Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya has assured his full support for Negros Occidental Provincial Election Supervisor Ian Lee Ananoria, who has been designated concurrent acting election officer of Bacolod City.
Ananoria met with Gasataya on Monday, September 21, to discuss the possible transfer of the Commission on Elections -Bacolod office to a more accessible location for the public.
Ananoria commended former Election Officer Kathrina Trinio-Caña, who resigned from her post to serve as a Clerk of Court.
“She has been very good, and it’s big shoes to fill, but we will continue the kind of public service she has shown,” Ananoria said.
He also said that despite moves by some members of Congress to postpone the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections, Comelec will continue preparations as mandated.
“As of now, we are focused, full steam ahead. Unless there is a law passed resetting the barangay elections,” he added.*
