DSB not renewing unvaxxed JOs’ contracts, Toboso sets rules, too

Mayor Marxlen dela Cruz said the contracts of all unvaccinated job order casuals in Don Salvador Benedicto (DSB) town will not be renewed effective January 1, 2022.

Only fully vaccinated persons will be allowed in the town’s public markets starting January 1, he also said Saturday, December 4.

Dela Cruz said 98 percent of the town’s about 150 job order casuals have already been vaccinated.

Mayor Richard Jaojoco also announced on Sunday that all Toboso local government employees starting December 16 will be required to present vaccination cards or negative RT-PCR test results for work.

Dela Cruz said DSB’s tourism destinations are open to the public but they are ensuring that all guests practice minimum health protocols against COVID-19.

“Let us not let our guards down because the COVID-19 threat is still here”, he said, pointing out that some people hit by COVID-19 are still dying and there is the threat of the Omicron variant, he said.

DSB only reached 70 percent of its three-day national vaccination drive target, de la Cruz said.

He said about 30 percent of DSB’s residents are still hesitant about getting vaccinated because of false information about the COVID-19 vaccines.

They are bringing the DSB vaccination drive down to the barangays, puroks and house to house if needed to hasten their hitting herd immunity, dela Cruz added.*
