CLMMRH starts shift to digital healthcare system

The Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) in Bacolod City  is continuing efforts to modernize healthcare delivery with the implementation of the SegHIS Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Hospital Information System (HIS).

As a major step toward digital transformation, the apex hospital or end-referral center of the Department of Health (DOH) in Negros Island Region partnered with Segworks Technologies Corp. in utilizing the SegHIS Plus Electronic Medical Record System to deliver more efficient, integrated, transparent and patient-centered healthcare services.

CLMMRH chief information officer and project manager John Michael Gabriel Zaragoza said on Wednesday, July 1,  that after the ceremonial signing of the project charter earlier this week, they proceeded with the data gathering and setting up of process workflow for automation.

“The process of development is ongoing and soon we will go live,” he added.

The validation of the system is scheduled in August while the rollout for the Outpatient Department and Emergency Department is set for September and October, respectively.

“Nov. 16 is the whole hospital rollout,” Zaragoza said, adding that full system turnover is targeted by May 2027.

CLMMRH medical center chief Dr. Joan Cerrada and Segworks Technologies Corp. president and chief executive officer Lemuel Trazo led the signing of the project charter in a ceremony held at Reodica Hall on June 29.

“Digital innovation is important in strengthening healthcare delivery and hospital operations,” Cerrada said.

The SegHIS Plus system has capabilities in streamlining clinical workflows, enhancing patient information management, improving operational efficiency and supporting evidence-based decision-making.

Once fully implemented, the system is expected to enhance patient care, improve operational efficiency, strengthen data integrity, optimize resource management and support better decision-making across the hospital.

“I call on all department heads, healthcare professionals, and employees to actively support the initiative. The success of the project depends on the collective commitment of the entire organization,” Cerrada said.

The SegHIS Plus project is the latest initiative introduced by the CLMMRH to improve healthcare delivery for patients from Negros and Siquijor.

On June 15, construction of the Mother and Child Building started with the aim to strengthen maternal, neonatal, pediatric and women’s healthcare services for patients across the region.

The PHP163.5-million project, funded through the DOH Health Facilities Enhancement Program, is set to be completed by the middle of next year.*PNA
