The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region arrested NIR’s 9th most wanted person for syndicated estafa during a manhunt operation in Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental, on Monday, Jan. 5.
Authorities identified the accused only as alias “Jo,” a 44-year-old housewife from Escalante City, Negros Occidental.
The arrest was carried out by the Escalante City Police Station by virtue of a warrant of arrest for syndicated estafa under Article 315(2)(a) of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Presidential Decree 1689, as amended by Republic Act 10951.
The police said no bail was recommended.
Authorities said the suspect was informed of her constitutional rights in a language she understood.
She is now detained at the Escalante City Police Station.*
