Aguinaldo and Gatuslao streets in Bacolod City are no longer one-way streets, Patrick Lacson, Bacolod Traffic Authority Office head, said Monday, Nov. 27.
They are now back to being two-way streets on which vehicular traffic can move in two directions, he said.
The two streets were previously turned into one-way roads from the provincial Capitol going north as part of a traffic experiment.
Under the city’s local ordinance a traffic experiment can only be implemented for 90 days. If it is necessary to make it permanent an ordinance is needed, Lacson said.
So the return of Aguinaldo and Gatuslao to two-lane streets is long overdue, he said.
Lacson also said the BTAO is ready for the Christmas rush traffic.*
