145 Bacolod police personnel undergo random drug testing

A total of 145 police officers and staff of the Bacolod City Police Office underwent mandatory random drug testing as part of the Philippine National Police (PNP) annual program.

The two-day activity was conducted on Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 28 and 29, in compliance with a directive from the National Police Commission.

BCPO spokesperson, Capt. Rosalino Pugoy Jr., said the testing is intended to ensure that police personnel remain free from illegal drug use and to strengthen transparency and accountability within the organization.

Pugoy said the program demonstrates the police force’s commitment to maintaining integrity and public trust.

Under the PNP and NAPOLCOM guidelines, personnel who test positive for illegal substances will be subjected to investigation and may face criminal and administrative sanctions.*
