Yuhum distributes cash prizes to MassKara Festival winners

The Bacolod Yuhum Foundation completed the distribution of its cash prizes to the MassKara Festival 2024 winners on Monday, November 11.

The recipients of the prizes are the winners in the Float Parade, Electroika Diva, and Street Dance and Arena competitions, along with several special awards, a press release from BYF said Tuesday.

Kuster Cadagat, BYF Secretary and Festival Director for Cultural and Accredited Events, said there was a slight delay in the releasing of prizes due to the processing of sponsorship funds.

“We faced a temporary setback while waiting for the funds to be transferred to the foundation, but we are now ready to release the prizes to all the winners,” Cadagat said.

The following are the winners and the amounts they received:

Float Parade
• Champion: Barangay 29 – P300,000
• 1st Runner-Up: Barangay Pahanocoy – P200,000
• 2nd Runner-Up: Barangay 17 – P150,000

Elektroika Diva
• Champion: Barangay 39 – P75,000
• 1st Runner-Up: Barangay 29 – P30,000
• 2nd Runner-Up: Barangay Pahanocoy – P20,000

Street Dance and Arena Parade
• Champion: Barangay Granada – P1,000,000
• 1st Runner-Up: Barangay Bata – P500,000
• 2nd Runner-Up: Barangay 12 – P300,000

Special Awards
• Best in Theme/Concept: Barangay Granada – P25,000
• Best in Music: Barangay Granada – P25,000
• Best in Headdress and Costume: Barangay Granada – P25,000
• Bacolod Yuhum Choice Award: Barangay Granada – P15,000
• Pillar of Dance Excellence: Segundo Jesus “Panoy” Cabalcar – P 10,000

The 2024 MassKara Festival started on October 11 with a Grand Countdown Salubong and concluded on October 27 with the Street Dance and Arena Competition.*
