Olivia V. Yanson, the matriarch of the Yanson group of bus companies who marked her 89th birthday at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City on Monday, January 23, said her new mission in life is to help indigent children with cleft palate and goiter problems.

Yanson said she will not only assist them with her own resources but will also work to raise funds for Operation Smile.

She said her wish for her birthday is happiness and the strength to be of service to others.

Former President Rodrigo Duterte, Vice President Sara Duterte, First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, Senators Imee Marcos, Cynthia Villar and Bong Go, and Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez were among the guests at the party.

Duterte thanked Yanson and her children for helping him become president of the Philippines.

The First Lady said she and her husband, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., wish Yanson all the best and thank her for all her love and support.

“I wish her new project success,” she also said.

Senator Marcos said her wish is for Yanson to continue to be blessed with many more years.

Villar said she wishes Yanson a long and happy life, and for her to continue to stay healthy so she can continue to help others.

Among Yanson’s children at her birthday were Leo Rey Yanson and Ginnette Dumancas.

Dumancas said her mother wants to have more years to carry out her new mission to help indigent children with cleft palate and goiter problems.*
