Victorias Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez on Monday, October 3, outlined the gains made by his administration with the implementation of his six-point agenda and more during his first three months in office.

Benitez, who delivered his report at the Victorias City Sports and Amusement Center, said it was in fulfillment of his campaign promise to ensure transparency in governance.

A lot of “first and only in Victorias” have been implemented in his first three months in office and more are yet to come, he said.

“It is not yet perfect, but as I often say, we are getting there. And I’ll make sure that we will get there. The sooner we do it, the better,” he said.

Under his six point agenda, Benitez said he promised dignified human settlements for the people of Victorias.

In fulfillment of that promise he signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino: Zero ISF by 2028 Program with Human Settlements Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar on September 30, Benitez said.

The aim is to build 6,000 housing units in three target barangays in Victorias City, he said.

He said 250 beneficiaries of the Yolanda Housing Project in Villa Victorias were also given certificates for housing units on September 4.

Housing is one of the top priorities of his administration because human settlements are central to the development of a city, Benitez said

Benitez also outlined measures taken to ensure transparency in governance and timely services, disaster resilient communities, a diversified economy, education for all, and universal healthcare for Victoriahanons.
