An unidentified male was found dead inside a parked vehicle in a subdivision in Barangay Efigenio Lizares, Talisay City, on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 2.
Police said the body was discovered at around 4:50 p.m. in a Hyundai owned by a resident of Palm State, Futura Homes.
The vehicle owner told the police he noticed a foul odor coming from his car.
He also saw flies gathering around the vehicle before opening it.
Inside, he found the decomposing remains of a man he does not know.
The Talisay police said the body was already in an advanced state of decomposition.
The victim was estimated to be 5 feet and 2 inches tall, aged 35 to 40 years old, and was wearing only red boxers.
The body was found in the driver’s seat and it is possible that it had been in the vehicle for three to five days.
There are no missing persons in Talisay City, the police said.
Police Maj. Rhazl Jim Jocson, Talisay deputy police chief, said the owner does not use the vehicle much because he used its battery during the typhoon and he has another vehicle that he often drives.
Investigators are now working to establish the victim’s identity and determine how he died.*
