A brutally killed man who was found in Victorias City, Negros Occidental, early Sunday, March 7, remains unidentified.
A barangay tanod discovered the body of the victim, whose hands and feet were tied, at Imaculada Street in Canetown Subdivision, Barangay 19-A, the police said.
A placard with the message “I love drugs” written on it was found on the body of the victim.
The name of a person, whose identity was withheld by the police, was also written on the placard with the words “you’re next” beside it.
Lt. Col. Eduardo Corpuz, Victorias City police chief, said they already interviewed the person named in the placard, who said he does not know the victim.
“We’re still establishing the connection of this person with the victim and the suspects,” he said.
RIBS CRACKED, EARS CUT OFF
Corpuz said that the City Health Office has conducted a post-mortem examination on the body, and it showed that the victim was badly beaten because his ribs were cracked.
The victim also had two gunshot wounds through his ears, with exit wounds in his neck, the police officer said.
His two ears were also cut off, he added.
There was no physical evidence that the victim was killed in the area where he was found, it appears that his body was only dumped there, Corpuz said.
The victim was slender, white, 5 feet 5 inches tall, and around 45 to 60 years old.
He already called police stations in neighboring towns and cities who may have reported missing persons, but there have been no developments so far, Corpuz said.
He is also calling the citizens who may have a missing relative to contact him at 09393581049.*
