Two Yuhum housing buildings turnover expected in July: mayor

Two buildings that will be part of the Yuhum Housing Village at Arao, Brgy Vista Alegre in Bacolod City are expected to be turned over in July and occupied before the end of year, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said Monday, June 12.

They 4-story buildings with hundreds of housing units are being built by WRS, a Manila-based contractor.

The mayor said he also visited the Progreso Village High School to hasten the turnover over of a newly built building there so it can be used.

The mayor said during his visit to the Yuhum Village housing site on Sunday he also followed up on the establishment of a Super Health Center at the Arao property.

In the meantime there is an available building at Arao that can already be used for the establishment of a mini hospital to serve the needs of residents in the area, he added.

The mayor also visited the Old Bacolod Airport to look at the area where an access road will be built to decongest traffic along Araneta Avenue.

City Public Order and Safety Office guards will also be assigned to the old airport to make sure that illegal structures are removed.

Meanwhile, the mayor said the Barangay Granada MassKara dancers who performed in New York and California recently have brought a lot of joy to Filipinos in the United States and were also hit with their American audiences.

The mayor, who just returned from New York, said a Grammy award winning rapper plans to come to Bacolod to work with the MassKara dancers for one of his music videos.*
