Two men were found dead in San Carlos and San Enrique, Negros Occidental, on Saturday, Sept. 27.
In San Carlos City, the body of a 79-year-old man known as Fernando was discovered floating in a river at Sitio Flum, Hacienda San Jose, Brgy. Guadalupe, around 10:45 a.m., the police said.
Family members reported that he went missing at about 6 p.m. the previous day.
The Philippine Coast Guard retrieved the body, which was brought to Saint Francis Funeral Homes for post-mortem examination by the City Health Office.
Meanwhile, in San Enrique, a farmer identified as Jurly Sevilla, 55, was found dead at his farm in Brgy. Sibucao at about 1 p.m., the police said.
His wife, Joy, discovered him half-lying on a folding bed with his head on the floor after he failed to return home since Sept. 25.
Police said the San Enrique Rural Health Unit will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.*
