Two fires destroyed 22 houses and damaged  18 in barangays 10 and Tangub on Wednesday, the Bacolod City Fire Station reported.

A fire hit 29 houses in  a dense area at Purok Magtiayon, Brgy 10, Bacolod City, at  12 a.m. Wednesday, June 26

Sixteen houses were destroyed  and 13 were damaged,   FSupt. Jenny Mae Masip, Bacolod Fire Marshal, said.

The houses that were made of light materials were built close to each other in a 600-square meter area, she said

The very narrow pathway made it difficult for firefighters to enter and put out the blaze, she added.

The fire started from the  house of Ramona Espinosa Anoche  and is believed to have been caused by an electrical problem, Masip said.

Further investigation is underway, she said.

The fire caused  an estimated  P210,000 in losses, she added.

A second fire  broke  out at  Purok Roadside, Brgy Tangub, Bacolod City, at 3:07 p.m. Wednesday.

The fire destroyed six houses and damaged five, the Bacolod Fire Station reported.

The  fire started from the house  of   Silfa Nolasco  and estimated damage was P600,000, the report added.*
