A two-day training workshop on natural concoction development and a practical demonstration under the project title “Entrepreneurial Support and Value Formation for Vulnerable Areas, Indigenous People and Community-Based Organizations” was recently conducted in Barangay Puey, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
The activity was facilitated by the Tugdo Team serving as resource persons and initiated by the Association of Negros Producers (ANP), in partnership with the 79th Infantry Battalion, Sagay City government, and Barangay Puey headed by Punong Barangay JR Cobrado.

During the first day, participants were oriented on the theoretical aspects, benefits, and proper preparation of natural concoctions — safe, organic solutions suitable for agricultural use, household applications, and potential livelihood generation. On the second day, the training proceeded to hands-on practice where participants successfully formulated and produced their own organic concoctions, translating knowledge into tangible products, a press release from the ANP said Sunday, June 21.
Parallel to the training, a monitoring and site visit was conducted at the Ata Village attended by Engr. Alingco of the Sagay City government, Cobrado, Sybel Nobleza, representatives from the 79th Infantry Battalion, and the Tugdo Team.
The group inspected available materials for the construction of the 65 comfort rooms and finalized the design and planning for a standard septic tank system, aimed at improving sanitation, health, and living conditions in the community.
The activity was officially monitored by the Provincial Planning and Development Office – Special Projects Division, led by Grace Lipa. She commended the smooth implementation and thanked Cobrado, the ANP), the 79th Infantry Battalion, and the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental (PGNO) for their strong collaboration in delivering the initiative.
The team also visited the Ata Village to monitor the backyard gardens, where vegetables are fruiting and members of the Ata were able to cook their first produced squash, and string beans, which are the outputs from the first training on April 28-29, the press release said.
This undertaking reinforces the goal of building sustainable livelihood, enhancing health and sanitation, and promoting peace and self-reliance among the communities of Negros Occidental, it added.*
