A man died after being pinned under a tractor pulling a rice harvester that overturned on the side of road in Brgy. Vista Alegre, Ilog, Negros Occidental, Tuesday morning, August 5.
Police said the tractor was driven by a man identified only as alias “Leo,” 25, and was traveling from Cauayan towards Kabankalan City when the driver lost control around 10:20 a.m.
The vehicle veered off the road and flipped on its side.
One of the passengers, Archie Arib, 30, was trapped underneath the overturned tractor and was declared dead at the scene.
He was a helper onboard the vehicle.
Rescue personnel from Ilog’s emergency response team responded quickly and recovered Arib’s body.
Another passenger, Randy Carrera, 63, a board member of the Mambugsay Diversified Farmers Association, and the driver were both rushed to Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City.*
