The Land Transportation Office-Negros Island Region issued 102 show cause orders against motorists and vehicle owners from January to September 2026 as part of its administrative enforcement of land transportation laws.
On Oct. 19, LTO-NIR said Negros Occidental accounted for 80 of the show cause orders, while 22 were issued in Negros Oriental.
Of the 102 cases, 57 have already been resolved through administrative proceedings, the agency said.
A show cause order directs a motorist or vehicle owner to explain why administrative sanctions should not be imposed over an alleged violation.
LTO-NIR said the issuance of the orders forms part of its efforts to strengthen accountability and road safety across the region.
LTO-NIR reminded motorists and vehicle owners in Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental and Siquijor to comply with traffic and transportation regulations.
The agency said it will continue conducting administrative proceedings and enforcing penalties when warranted under existing laws and regulations.*
