Teen killed, 2 minors injured in Cadiz motorcycle collision

An 18-year-old motorcycle driver was killed while two minors were injured in a collision involving two motorcycles in Brgy. Burgos, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday afternoon, June 24.

Police identified the fatality as  “Silver,” 18, a resident of Brgy. Burgos.

The injured were a 15-year-old motorcycle driver and a 14-year-old back rider.

The collision happened at around 5 p.m. along the barangay road in Brgy. Burgos.

Initial investigation showed that the 15-year-old was driving a red Rusi motorcycle from Cadiz City proper toward Brgy. Burgos.

Silver was driving a black Rusi motorcycle from Brgy. Sicaba toward Crossing Martesan with the 14-year-old minor as his passenger.

A witness told police that Silver allegedly lost control of the motorcycle, veered into the opposite lane, and collided with the other motorcycle.

All three teenagers were thrown onto the concrete road and sustained injuries.

Personnel of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office brought them to the Cadiz District Hospital for treatment.

Silver was declared dead by the attending physician at around 5:55 p.m., the police said.

The two motorcycles sustained undetermined damage and were taken to the Cadiz City Police Station for proper disposition.

Police are continuing their investigation into the collision.*
