A senior citizen was stabbed to death while two others were injured in hacking incidents in Negros Occidental on Thursday, Jan 23.
Alias “Antonio”, 73, was stabbed to death for teasing his assailant who lost in gambling in Purok Paho, Brgy. Inolingan, Moises Padilla, the police said.
He was stabbed by alias “Joy”, 49, the police said.
Investigation revealed that the suspect got angry after he was teased by the victim for losing in gambling.
The suspect, who punched and stabbed the victim in the chest using a kitchen knife, is now in police custody.
Meanwhile, two others were injured in separate hacking incidents.
A 54-year-old habal-habal driver was injured after he was allegedly hacked by alias “Reynan”, 35, a farmer in Sitio Cabunao, Brgy. Palampas, San Carlos City, at about 6 p.m. Thursday
Investigation revealed that while the victim was walking with his live-in partner, the suspect hacked him on his head and shoulders.
The suspect fled after the incident while the victim was brought to San Carlos City Hospital.
A pursuit operation resulted in the arrest of the suspect, who is now under police custody.
Meanwhile, alias “Katong”, 36, was also injured after he was hacked by alias “Romeo”, 28, in Purok Tar Apple, Brgy. Canturay, Sipalay City.
The victim, suspect and his first cousin alias “Gin” were at a drinking session at a store when a heated argument ensued between the victim and Gin.
The victim followed Gin with a knife allegedly tucked in his waist and the suspect saw it causing him to hack the victim several times, the police said.
The victim was brought to the Merceditas J. Montilla District Hospital and was later referred to a hospital in Bacolod City.
The suspect was arrested and is now under police custody.*
