San Carlos youth rep elected Negros SK Federation president

Mayvelyn Madrid of San Carlos City was elected president of the Negros Occidental Sangguniang Kabataan Federation unopposed at the provincial Capitol in Bacolod City on Wednesday, Nov. 29.

Madrid, 22, will represent the SK in the Negros Occidental Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business from Central Philippines State University in San Carlos City in July.

Madrid, who is from Barangay 5, San Carlos City, said as SK Federation president she will forge unity among its members provincewide and push for free printing services for students’ needs.

She will also continue the projects started by outgoing provincial SK Federation president Pocholo C. Yuvienco, who is also from San Carlos City, Madrid said.

The other elected provincial SK Federation officials are Trisha Mae Majan of Victorias City – vice president, Remar Lascano of Pontevedra – secretary, Cheska Gwyneth Lopez of E.B Magalona – treasurer, John Mhil Acerada of Silay City – auditor, Kierly Villanueva of La Castellana – public relations officer and Gemnell Verzosa of Binalbagan and Steven Mellama of Escalante City – sergeant-at-arms.
