The police arrested two Negrenses and seized suspected shabu worth P2.3 million in Brgy. Guadalupe, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, on Saturday, Aug. 31.
Arrested were alias “Ronilo”, 29, a resident of Brgy. Tigbon, Calatrava, and alias “Hutch”, 37, of Brgy. Vito, Sagay City, the Police Regional Office-6 reported.
They were arrested while the police were conducting an investigation on the recent robbery incident at the Gaisano Mall in San Carlos City.
When the suspects saw the police, one of them attempted to use his gun but the police disarmed him immediately.
Recovered from them were two .45 caliber pistols with two magazines and 10 live cartridges, and about 343 grams of suspected shabu worth about P2,332,000.
Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, PRO-6 Director, recognized the alertness and vigilance of the San Carlos City police that resulted to the arrest of the suspects.
“This action speaks how aware and vigilant our police are in San Carlos City. With the arrest of these two, their evil plans and activities were prevented”, he said.
The suspects are now under police custody and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearm and Ammunition Regulation Act.*
