The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board in Western Visayas (RTWPB-6) will hold public hearings on wage hike petitions at the Negros Occidental Capitol in Bacolod City on Monday, Oct. 21.
The hearing on the wages of domestic workers will be held at the Social Hall of the Capitol from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., the DOLE announced.
The hearing on the wages of workers in private establishments will be held at the same venue from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., it added.
“These consultations aim to gather inputs from labor and management sectors, which will help the Wage Board in determining the need for a wage adjustment in Western Visayas,” the RTWPB-6 said.
The United Labor-Western Visayas, an alliance of labor groups, is pushing for a P150 increase in the daily minimum salary of workers in private establishments.*
