Regional Task Force Kanlaon (RTFK) is now headed by Office of the Civil Defense Negros Island Region (OCD NIR) Director Donato Sermeno III.
The leadership of the RTFK was transferred to Sermeno from OCD Western Visayas head Raul Fernandez since Kanlaon Volcano is no longer under his jurisdiction with the creation of the NIR.
The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) Region VI has officially downgraded the alert status of its Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Operations Center (RDRRMOC) from Blue Alert to White (Normal) since the responsibility over Mt. Kanlaon was transferred to the NIR OCD effective December.
Sermeno said the RDRRMC NIR remains on red alert since there has been no change in the Alert Level 2 status of Kanlaon Volcano”.*
