Raffle on to raise funds for indigents’ ambulance

Charity Diva Token Lizares is appealing to the public to purchase raffle tickets to help pay for an ambulance being used for sick indigents under the care of the Servants of Mary in Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City.

“We live dedicated to the care of the sick, serving them through our charity clinic in Handumanan, and visiting them in their own homes,” Sister Carmen Piña, superior of the Servants of Mary community, said Tuesday, April 6.

They not only care for the physical health of the sick, but also attend to their psychological, spiritual and social needs and of their family members, she said.

“When we were established in Handumanan, we started to discover how many poor sick people were dying in their homes, without any help, for the lack of resources to seek medical services,” she said.

The ambulance is needed to transport the patients from their homes to the Servants of Mary clinic to see a doctor, and to hospitals when needed, she added.

“We appeal to your benevolent heart to support this project for the benefit of the poor who are sick,” Piña said.

“Together we can improve the situation of many poor families who have been suffering without hope,” she said.

The raffle tickets for the ambulance drive cost P100 each, Lizares said.

The grand prize is P30,000, second prize – P20,000 and third prize -P10,000 plus five consolation prizes of P1,000 each.

The raffle draw will be at the Clinic of St. Ezekiel Moreno in Barangay Handumanan on September 8, Lizares said.

Those who would like to make a donation for the Servants of Mary ambulance may also do so at their RCBC account – Local Superior of Siervas de Maria 1421176899, Lizares said.
