PRO-NIR sends off Pulis sa Barangay teams

The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) held a send-off ceremony for revitalized Pulis sa Barangay teams to strengthen community-based policing across the region at rites held at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City, on Friday, Jan. 16.

PRO-NIR said 50 police personnel who completed the program training will be deployed to selected barangays in Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor.

Police personnel from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office will be assigned to Oringao in Kabankalan City, while RMFB personnel will be deployed to Brgy. Marcelo in Calatrava.

Personnel from the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office will be assigned to Brgy. Barras in Mabinay and Tayawan in Bayawan City.

Siquijor Police Provincial Office personnel will be deployed to Brgy. Sabang in Siquijor town.

PRO-NIR said the deployed personnel will serve as the primary link between the police and local communities to strengthen trust, coordination, and crime prevention at the barangay level.

PRO-NIR regional director BGen. Arnold Thomas Ibay said the revitalized Pulis sa Barangay program aims to bring police services closer to communities, particularly in remote and conflict-affected areas.

PRO-NIR said the deployment underscores its commitment to people-centered policing, community partnership, and sustained peace and order in the Negros Island Region.*
