Police station chief, deputy relieved for alleged smuggling of Negros pigs

The Police Regional Office-7 director relieved the Dumanjug Police Station chief and his deputy in Cebu province for allegedly allowing hog smuggling from Negros OrientaI during the weekend.

Police Regional Office (PRO 7) director, PBrig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, relieved them amid allegations that they were involved in the smuggling of about 79 pigs through Dumanjug.

Those relieved were PCapt. Kelvin Roy Mamaradlo, the Dumanjug police chief, PLt. Heine Aspera, deputy station commander, and PStaff Sgt. Reynold Burlado.

The Cebu provincial government has a standing order not to allow the entry of hogs from Negros because of the African Swine Fever threat.*
