The second body found in a grassy area of the First Farmers Holding Corporation parking lot in Barangay Dos Hermanas, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, was identified as female, the police said on Sunday, Augus 31.
On Friday, authorities had identified one of the two decomposed bodies as male but were unable to determine the gender of the second due to its advanced state of decomposition.
The names of the victims have not been determined as no family members have come forward to claim the bodies, Lt. Ramon Juavlar, Talisay deputy police chief, said on Sunday.
Juavlar said that the police have also not determined their cause of death yet.
They are waiting for relatives to claim the bodies before examinations can be conducted.
Investigators are also trying to determine if the victims were killed elsewhere and their bodies later dumped at the parking lot.
The police investigation is ongoing, and officers are reviewing CCTV footage for leads and evidence, Juavlar said.
One of the deceased was found wearing a black shirt, denim shorts, and Lacoste-brand underwear, while the other was found in denim shorts without a shirt.
SEPARATE INCIDENT
In a separate incident, the body of Richard Marck Nance, 36, was discovered in front of his home in Hacienda Manaul, Purok Ma-anyag, Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City, at 1:35 a.m. on Sunday.
His father, Pablito Nance, 54, believes there was no foul play involved, as his son had been suffering from tuberculosis.*
