PNP to send-off full security force for Panaad Festival on Saturday

The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO NIR) is deploying nearly 900 personnel for the Panaad Festival 2026 that opens on Monday, April 13.

The send-off ceremony for Task Group Panaad Festival 2026 will be held at the Pana-ad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, 10 a.m. Saturday, April 11.

The activity will be led by PBGen. Arnold Thomas C. Ibay, PRO NIR regional director, and PCol. Dennis C. Wenceslao, Negros Occidental provincial director.

Gov. Eugenio Jose V. Lacson will be the guest of honor and speaker.

The ceremony will feature a presentation of forces and resources followed by a blessing of the troops, symbolizing full operational readiness and the unified commitment of all involved units, the PRO NIR said.

The PRO NIR said the deployment is anchored on a comprehensive security framework driven by intelligence operations, heightened police visibility, and seamless coordination with local government units, force multipliers, and partner agencies.

This strategy aims to ensure the efficient implementation of all security measures throughout the duration of the festival that will end on April 19, it said.

The multi-agency force is composed of PNP personnel from the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office and Bacolod City Police Office, working alongside representatives from the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Provincial Health Office to provide comprehensive coverage and swift response capabilities.

Supporting these personnel are more than 100 logistical assets, including mobile vehicles, motorcycles, handheld and base radios, and trucks, all intended to enhance mobility and operational efficiency across the festival grounds, the PRO NIR said.

Ibay encouraged festival-goers to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities by strictly observing security protocols, underscoring that public safety is a shared responsibility.

With these extensive measures in place, PRO NIR assures the community that the Pana-ad Festival 2026 will be conducted in a safe and orderly manner, fostered by the strong partnership of all stakeholders, he said.*
