
The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region reported a generally peaceful and incident-free conduct of the Panaad Festival 2026, with an estimated 45,000 attendees during its highlight activities on Sunday.
The PRO-NIR said on Monday, April 20, that the orderly celebration was attributed to effective security operations, strong coordination among agencies, and cooperation from the public .
Close to 900 personnel from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, Bacolod City Police Office, national support units, Bureau of Fire Protection, and other partner agencies were deployed across key areas, including the Panaad Park and Stadium and other convergence points.
Authorities said sustained patrol operations, crowd management, and traffic control measures contributed to the smooth flow of activities and safety of festivalgoers.
No major untoward or significant crime incidents were recorded during the entire duration of the festival.
PBGen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR Regional Director, commended the deployed personnel and partner agencies for their efforts, citing their role in ensuring the safe and orderly conduct of the event.
