Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said he is very happy with the results of the just concluded 30th Panaad sa Negros Festival that drew more than 100,000 visitors and generated sales of P29.4 million in seven days.

Lacson against thanked the provincial government employees and festival executive director Charina Magallanes Tan for the success of the festival during the Employees’ Night at Capitol Park and Lagoon on Monday, April 20.

The appreciation night was held to recognize the collective efforts of the provincial workforce in mounting the massive celebration.

Lacson said the festival gave Negrenses respite from the current economic crisis to gather and have fun.

The governor also said this year’s Panaad sales of P29,423,739 benefitted more micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The sales this year was P12.8 million higher than the P16.6 million during Panaad Festival in 2025.

It was also higher than the 2023 overall sales of P23.6 million and P20.6 million in 2024.

“We did our best to bring pride and joy to our province,” Lacson said.

“The total estimated sales for the week almost reached P30M, breaking all previous records. In the midst of a fuel crisis, this is a miracle that only Negrenses can pull off,” said Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz, who also thanked the Capitol employees and the Negrenses for making the festival a success.

The significant rise in daily sales during the seven-day festivities proves that continued investment in cultural festivals serves as an economic driver, he said.*
