
The Bacolod City police seized approximately P3,638,000 worth of suspected shabu and arrested three suspects in two separate buy-bust operations conducted between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, December 30 and 31.
The first sting was launched by operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Station 8 at around 9:54 p.m. Tuesday in Purok Mainabyanon, Brgy. Singcang-Airport.
The operation led to the arrest of 48-year-old “Ernesto,” an unemployed local resident.
Authorities recovered one large heat-sealed sachet used in the buy-bust, along with six additional large sachets and three knot-tied plastic bags. The total haul weighed 335 grams, valued at a standard drug price of P2,278,000, the police said.
At 1:40 a.m. Wednesday, Police Station 2 operatives conducted a second operation in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2.
The police apprehended the primary subject, “Sir Erns,” 27, and a second suspect, “Ernie,” 40, who was allegedly caught while attempting to purchase drugs from the target.
Both suspects are residents of Brgy. Singcang-Airport.
The second encounter yielded 200 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,360,000, the police said.
All confiscated substances have been submitted to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
The suspects are currently under police custody and face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
