Only 52 of 112 CCTVs in Bacolod operational

The CCTVs in Bacolod City are being repaired*

The City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) is continuing to improve and fix the Closed-Circuit Televisions (CCTVs) that are installed around Bacolod City, a press release from the Bacolod City Government Center said Wednesday, September 21.

Out of the 112 CCTVs that are installed around Bacolod, there are 52 that are operational. Out of 52, there are nine functioning 360 degrees CCTVs, it added.

These CCTVs are installed at Burgos Street-Ferero, Ferero-Rizal Street, St.Paul tower-Rizal Street, Alijis (Bacolod Memorial Park), Araneta Street (Goldenfield), Lopues East, Lacson Street-North Capitol Road.,St. Francis Ave. and the Circumferential road, NGC exit.

DRRMO Executive Assistant I Aaron Bais said that after deploying three technicians to check the CCTVs that are installed around the city, it was found that some defective CCTVs lack spare parts. Problems such as low internet signal, inability to transmit signal because of low radio antenna, Network Video Recorder (NVR) shows deterioration, and the need of proper maintenance were discovered, the press release said.

The CCTV monitoring is also affected by frequent low voltage, it added.

The CDRRMO assured that it will continue to fix and restore the CCTVs to strengthen the traffic surveillance in the city.*
