A low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has a high possibility of developing into a tropical depression named “Wilma”, an Office of Civil Defense official said on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
This could bring rains to the Negros Island Region on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, OCD NIR Regional Director Donato Sermeno III said.
The LPA outside the PAR was 1,210 kilometers from Southeastern Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
It could enter the PAR on Wednesday and hit the central part of the Philippines, it added.*
