The Leonardo Panaligan Command of the NPA, on Wednesday, October 1, identified the victim as Ryan Librea, whom they accused of being an intelligence asset of the 62nd Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army and the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).
The rebel group alleged that Librea was monitoring their activities in the area and said they seized a revolver, pistol, two smartphones, and a knife from him.
The NPA also issued a warning to other alleged military informants to cease their activities, saying they risk meeting the same fate as Librea.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.*
