NONECO, Sual Power sign supply deal for 5-MW peaking requirement

The Northern Negros Electric Cooperative Inc. and Sual Power Inc. have signed a Power Supply Agreement for the procurement of NONECO’s 5-megawatt peaking power requirement.

The agreement aims to strengthen its power supply and ensure reliable and affordable electricity for its member-consumer-owners, NONECO said in a press release.

The cooperative said the agreement was the result of a Competitive Selection Process conducted in compliance with National Electrification Administration requirements to ensure transparency and secure the most advantageous offer for consumers.

National Electrification Administration Deputy Administrator and NONECO project supervisor Rossan Rosero-Lee commended the cooperative for the conduct of the CSP.

NONECO General Manager  Wilbe Bilbao said the signing marks a milestone for the cooperative, noting that the process took years of diligence and commitment before the contract was awarded.

Bilbao said the Power Supply Agreement is expected to help ensure reliable, stable, and fairly priced electricity for communities in Northern Negros.

The partnership with Sual Power Inc. is also expected to support NONECO’s goal of providing more affordable power rates to its member-consumer-owners, the press release added.*
